PROGRAMME NOTE

‘Breathing, bending, breaking’ creates a soundscape of the forest. When immersed in the trees, if it is quiet enough, one can hear the mauri (lifeforce) flow through the leaves. The trees breathe, branches bend, and twigs snap on the forest floor. Who are we if not a part of this experience? What is our breath if not the breath of the trees? Are our instruments not simply the earth reformed?
